Friday Pagan Dinner Gatherings in 2017

Anyone interested in paganism, Wicca, or learning about OLW is welcome to join OLW members for an informal dinner on the first (and occasionally the second) Friday of each month. Whether you are a beginner, advanced practitioner, or just curious, you are welcome. We meet at the Pyramid Cafe in Los Alamos at 6 PM. Look for the green dragon on the table!

Wecome to the Woods Series

Have you ever wondered what real Witches do on the night of the full moon? or what the Pentagram really means? or what a Wiccan ritual is like--or wanted to see one? Join the Coven of Our Lady of the Woods for three fun and informative evenings where we will explore these questions and much more.

We will meet on the second Wednesday of May, June, and July to share information and skills about the modern practice of Witchcraft at the Unitarian Church of Los Alamos, 1738 North Sage Street, Los Alamos.

Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks to share if they are able. There is no fee, but donations will be accepted.

ostara#3: Wiccan Ritual: Practice and Purpose

Ritual is central to Wiccan Practice. Learn the basic components of ritual, how it differs from other types of ritual and more. Participate in or observe a ritual designed by attendees and coven members of Our Lady of the Woods. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.



Wicca 101: Six Classes on the Foundations of Wicca
August 23 - September 27, 2017

Class Topics (all classes are on Wednesdays and begin promptly at 7 PM; held at the Los Alamos Uniitarian Church)

August 23, 2017: The Goddess of a Thousand Names
The story of the goddess in ancient times and the present, told with fascinating images of goddesses and gods from many cultures.

August 30, 2017: History/Herstory
An overview of pagan and witchcraft history presented in story, song, and short dramatic skits. You will learn the difference between myth, legend, and history and what role witches and pagans have played in making history throughout the ages.

September 6, 2017: Wheel of the Year
The moon and sun cycles tell the stories of the goddess and the god and also trace the Wiccan year of sabbats: Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lammas, Mabon, and Samhain. An opportunity to experience the themes of all eight sabbats in one evening.

September 13, 2017: Ethics and Magick
We will discuss the Wiccan Rede, Law of Three, and other ethical guidelines followed by most pagans and witches. These are the foundation of ethical magical practice.

September 20, 2017: Wiccan Cosmology and Theology
How do Wiccans view the universe? This class presents the Wiccan world view, paying particular attention to our inner connection with all creation and the sacredness of life. We will discuss other beliefs, such as reincarnation, who the deities are, and more.

September 27, 2017: Living Pagan
What does it mean to live as a pagan? Is it more than proclaiming you are in sync with the natural rhythms of the year? A panel will also talk about their own personal practices. We will discuss what it is like to belong to a pagan or Wiccan group, and talk about the many flavors of groups available.
